Daniel Etese Benson, popularly known by his stage name BNXN (pronounced as Benson, formerly Buju), is a Nigerian singer and songwriter born on May 19, 1997. Renowned for his infectious hooks and rich vocals, BNXN has become a key figure in the Nigerian Afro-fusion scene.

Born in Gbagada, Lagos State, but originally from Akwa Ibom State, BNXN grew up in Lagos before his family later moved to Ogun State. Influenced by Nigerian music legends like 2Baba and Burna Boy, he developed a strong passion for music from a young age.

Personal Life

BNXN is currently not married and has remained private about his relationship status. Despite his growing fame, he continues to focus on his music career and artistic growth.

Music Career

BNXN’s rise began after a freestyle recording went viral online, capturing the attention of rapper Zlatan Ibile, who later collaborated with him on the hit track “Spiritual.”

In October 2021, he released his debut EP titled “Sorry I’m Late” under T.Y.E/EMPIRE. The project featured production from top producers like Rexxie, Timi Jay, and a guest appearance from The Cavemen. The project was well-received and marked his emergence as a force in Nigerian music.

His popularity soared internationally when he teamed up with Pheelz on the chart-topping song “Finesse” in March 2022, which peaked at #52 on the UK Official Singles Chart. That same year, he collaborated with UK rapper Dave and producer Jae5 on the track “Propeller,” which debuted at #38 in the UK Top 40.

BNXN released his second EP, “Bad Since ‘97”, in August 2022, featuring heavyweights like Wizkid, Olamide, and Wande Coal. His efforts earned him the Next Rated Artist award at The Headies 2022 held in Atlanta, USA.

He dropped his first studio album, “Sincerely, Benson,” on October 4, 2023, featuring 15 tracks with collaborations from international stars like Popcaan and Headie One.

In 2024, BNXN surprised fans by releasing a joint EP titled “R&B” with fellow Nigerian singer Ruger, despite their previously public feud. The seven-track project showcased their musical synergy and marked a new chapter in their careers.
